Founder’s Statement

Welcome! We're Reed Jones and Aiden Cooper, proud East Hampton locals and professional lifeguards with over 12 years of combined experience ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.

Together, our deep connection to East Hampton and years spent guarding our beloved local beaches have inspired us to create South Fork Swim — a service built to share our skills and passion for water safety. Our mission is simple: promote safety, educate our community, and ensure every beachgoer and swimmer enjoys the water with confidence.

Aiden Cooper

  • Lieutenant Ocean Lifeguard, Village of East Hampton

  • 6+ years of experience in open water and youth instruction

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Skidmore College

  • Former Junior Lifeguard Instructor

  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, Still Water, and Ocean Lifeguarding

Aiden also brings experience working with students, emphasizing patience, structure, and leadership.

Reed “RJ” Jones

  • Ocean Lifeguard, Village of East Hampton

  • 6+ years of lifeguarding and rescue experience

  • Member of East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue

  • Certified Jet ski Rescue Operator

  • Former varsity swimmer

  • BBA in Finance from Emory University

  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, Still Water, and Ocean Lifeguarding
